Happy New Years

As I sit in my room, watching Steel Magnolias (with I will continue to argue is one of the best movies of all time) I figured, no better time than now to start the blogging. Something to keep myself, and you kids amused since others (uhumm you know who you are) have failed to update their own blogs in the past two months.

Well, looking back at 2007, what a year it was. Between college graduation and moving oh ya know, 3000 miles from home, the year certainly came and went in a flash. Overall, 2007 was a great year filled with the end of one era and the beginning of a new. I suppose i should say thank you, to all of you who have been so supportive with the huge changes that I have made in my life in the course of the past few months. I certainly am blessed to have such phenominal people in my life.

I had to laugh as I started to contimplate new years resolutions. I think the Facebook bumper sticker I found says it best, "My resolution is to get healthier while continuing to destroy my body with drugs and alcohol." Thank you Facebook bumper stickers, you have made my life. I suppose new years resolutions always have made me giggle. Why does it take a new year to decide youre going to change you life. Every year we are going to get heathier, quit our vices, run a marathon, find new hobbies, fly to the moon etc.... and two weeks in, that all goes to hell. All the years I worked at the gym, it would never cease to amaze me how many people would fly in, sign up for year contracts and fall back off the face of the earth after two weeks. Amazing. This year, my resolution is simple, to be the best friend I can be.

Since graduation, which was literally a few months ago, it has been amazing to see which friends have stuck around and which have fallen off the face of the earth. I suppose your true friends will always be there. You do not have to seek them out, for they seek you. I do not have the time, nor energy to track people down. I do not have the desire to. So for the new year, I will continue to foster the friendships with those people I have been so blessed as to have in my life, make these friendships the best they can be and always know that I really do, have the best friends a girl could ask for.

Okay, enough ranting on that subject.

I suppose for those of you who I havent really been able to talk to about my work, an update would be in order. All of you know, still with Facebook, rocking out at the sweetest job, ever. I'm currently working in our appeals division of the user opperations team dealing with the morons who manage to get their accounts disabled. Needless to say, every day is interesting and every email makes me laugh. I think the job is what you make of it, I love my work. I take pride in what I do every day. I love my coworkers, the structure, making my own hours, the perks (even the food!) I do not have a complaint in the world. And i love that i can say that, with zero hesitation. I couldn't imagine trying to work full work weeks at a job which didn't make me happy. I have yet to cease to be amazed by the people I work with. Literally, the smartest people I have ever met. It is amazing.

This week should be fairly low key, normal work-week. Nothing too absurd going on. Next week I'll be attending a Lehigh Career Networking Reception in San Francisco. Really looking forward to meeting some other young lehigh alums in the bay area! Has anyone ever been to one of these.... any suggestions, things to look out for etc? Let me know if anyone has advice.
